One Day Wonder #23

Here's a nice little outing in 5/8 that hits its groove early on and uses contrasting dynamics to avoid being monotonous. Out of all pieces so far, I think I could have done more with this, but for one reason or another, I could never figure out what that "more" could be. I listen to again after several months and I feel the exact same way. And I have no idea how to bring it about. It might be because I'm not dissatisfied with the piece. In fact I like it a lot. But there's just something missing from it that I was able to incorporate in later pieces. OK, let it remain a mystery. Let's move on.
